Some concerned individuals have queried whether it is permissible to make a Lillah donation towards the running costs of the Masjid using credit/charge cards – the inference being that credit card and charge card payments could potentially involve the payment of interest.
Of course any dealings with interest (Riba) is haraam and naturally the Masjid unreservedly discourages any actions that contravene Islamic law.
Therefore we respectfully request that if you choose to pay by credit/charge card, please ensure that the amount donated is settled with your credit/charge card company before any interest becomes liable. Alternatively please use a debit card.
